Rio Hondo below and the Rio Grande to the West. This house is set
up for a perfect getaway vacation. There are two decks in which
to view the georgeous Sangre De Christo Mountains to the East and
the Valley sunsets to the West. While relaxing in our outdoor hottub
on the first deck, you will view the most incredible display of
stars in the world. This home is a 10 for star gazer's! Witness
Bald and Golden Eagles from the deck or just curl up to a good book
by the kiva fireplace. If you need to get away from the traffic
or the rat race, you will re-energize your soul at this home.
We call the home Deer Mesa.
It's located on Deer Mesa drive, a very secluded neighborhood at
the end of the culdesac. It's a dirt road that requires a 4 wheel
drive vehicle in the winter months. Deer Mesa backs up to the Carson
National Forest. The view of the Sangre De Christo mountains is
incredible. Witness every evening at sunset the mountains turning
the shade of red. The town of Taos is a beautifully historical old
town that offers art galleries, great food, live music, and the
native Taos Pueblo Indians (inhabited since 1200 A. D. ) . There
is great skiing in the Southern Rocky Mountains at Taos Ski Valley,
Red River, and Angel Fire. White water rafting in the Rio Grande
Gorge from April thru June is a must and you can go horseback riding,
mountain biking, hot air ballooning, camping, and fishing nearly
year around. If you love to play golf, you will enjoy playing Taos
Country Club - a desert styled course open to the public. Taos is
located only an hour North from Santa Fe - a great day trip. Taos
weather is spectacular with low humidity and cool nights. The house
altitude is approximately 7, 000 ft. The home is 12 minutes from
the Taos ski area and the town of Taos and 2 minutes from the town
of Arroyo Seco where famed Julia Roberts vacation getaway home is
located.
